Geresdlak – where cultures meet

Geresdlak lies in Baranya County, in the picturesque landscape of the Geresd Hills. Besides its natural beauty, the village is known for its cultural diversity and its close-knit community.

A defining part of the village's cultural heritage is its German, Swabian tradition. The German settlers who arrived here enriched the village with their language, customs, cuisine and way of life. The best known event of the village is the Gőzgombóc Festival. At its heart stands the favourite dish of Swabian cooking, the steamed dumpling, but the festival is just as much a community gathering. Alongside the culinary delights, visitors can enjoy cultural performances, music, craft demonstrations and other community events – showing how a tradition can become the symbol of an entire village's togetherness.
